A term that describes a student's progress in learning any disciple. Shu or "obedience" indicates the initial stage when the student follows forms strictly. "Ha" or "detachment" indicates the stage when the student begins to experiment and consult other masters. Ri or "separation" indicates full mastery; further learning is based on examination of fundamental principles & research.
Shuhari indicates the student's progression from simple obedience through to mastery. The definition quoted on the wikipedia page lists the progression as "Shu" - obedience -> "Ha" - digression -> "ri" Separation. Martin Fowler defines the term slightly differently, emphasizing the source of the student's learning (from a single master to multiple masters and experimentation ultimately to full experimentation and self-examination). Ron Fox has an extended essay which explains the term more fully.
