comment Can Forms (Kata/Poomsae/etc.) or Techniques (Waza) be practiced on the ground?
Yep, I don't know of any forms that start or even spend prolonged time on one's back, though I suppose one could create some (particularly two person forms). Though I generally think of "ground fighting" fairly expansively to include anything you do from the ground.

comment Can Forms (Kata/Poomsae/etc.) or Techniques (Waza) be practiced on the ground?
Not a direct answer to the question, but it's worth noting that some forms (e.g., in iaido) start from the ground.

comment What qualifies a school or business as a legitimate martial arts system?
Yeah, there's a lot of variance in cost for martial arts training, and sometimes getting training can run quite high… but that cost may very well be going into better training equipment (mats, realistic targets), a better location, a more available instructor, or a variety of other things that you may or may not consider worth it. "Is it a reasonable cost for what I am getting" is a fantastic question for any martial art you are engaged in, understanding others may make other choices.

comment What are the philosophical differences between the TKD Kwan?
Some clarification: 1) I am not within a kwan and I don't practice TKD 2) I have spoken with other instructors, but I am also very sure from a historical perspective of a difference in the fraternal organizations which carries forward, at least with older instructors. The original differences were, at least at one point, evidently fairly distinct. That may be lessened now, but even historical information here would be appreciated.

comment How effective are different pricing structures for martial arts studios?
An important variant form of per lesson plan I've been seeing is to purchase lessons in bulk. So you can purchase, say, a set of 10—30 lessons together in one package but when you use them is up to you. This has the advantage from a teacher standpoint of securing a certain amount of income up front, while providing the student significant flexibility.
