comment Defence against Wing Chun
Correct, he knew wing chun. He also pointed out that martial arts had too much emphasis on forms as opposed to live training in Karate, Kung Fu, etc which is why JKD includes elements of boxing, thai boxing and grappling. A quick description on Bruce Lee and JKD: "He often compared doing forms without an opponent, to attempting to learn to swim on dry land. Lee believed that real combat was alive and dynamic."

comment Can you be immune to chokeholds?
No it's not, you clearly have never trained BJJ at all.

You missed your opening tag, this would fail.

comment What drills are good to escape/break Spider Guard?
That's a good escape, but sometimes it just won't work cause the guy has a mega death grip or just good. The more options you have the better, there is never one answer.

comment What is the best way to improve your skills in BJJ (gi and no-gi) and become a black belt in short period?
Ok, you want Black belt level skills in as fast a time as possible! Ask yourself this: How long does it take to learn a language? Probably about 5/10 years unless you're a kid who can absorb everything super quick just like BJ Penn did in 3 years with his black belt. My advice to you is forget about trying to be the best and having the best skills as quick as possible and just have fun. The more you enjoy it the quicker you will progress. If you're THAT guy at the gym who only cares about being the best as quick as possible you're going to progress very slowly.

comment Which martial arts focus on self defense?
If you're a fan of MMA you'll know that the best martial arts are: Boxing, Thai Boxing, Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Wrestling. Having any of these skills and being in fit shape you'll be safe as you can run like hell too!

Krav maga isn't all that. I've seen some ridiculous techniques being taught for when a person is attempting to grapple or take down an opponent. I've also seen you can obtain a qualification Krav Maga online, that says a lot about it's legitimacy.

comment How does a non-grappler train to be ready to avoid grappling in a real-world situation?
Maybe you should look into Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and see what the mount position is and educate yourself.

Ok, think about this....what if the guy who has grappling skills decides to use eye gauging too? It's going to be a pretty bad day if someone has mount on you and is gauging your eyes out. But then again....as you said....you could "twist the nipple". I'll have to try that in the next competition I'm in.

A stupid comment by someone who has most likely never done grappling. This comment is stupid considering the words "twist his nipple" are included.

comment How important is lineage when it comes to credibility or trustworthiness?
Just because somebody comes from a certain lineage does not mean he is a good teacher or has certain skills. Lineage charts are pointless as they encourage people to believe that an instructor is a good one just because of his lineage. What about the guys who don't have this fancy lineage? Are they bad teachers? Are they lesser martial artists? It doesn't matter who you get taught by, what matter is the skills and methodology the instructor uses to teach. I've trained with people who came from fancy lineages and had really bad skills. Lineage does not matter.
