I wonder if you could take the dogi to an experienced tailor and explain to them what you need. Those kinds of people would probably be able to pull something off for you.

comment Should political/religious discussions be allowed inside the training place?
@DaveNewton I'm confused too. I was thinking just general politics and religion conversations for chit-chat. The subject is way too broad. I don't think question is very constructive (or related to martial arts per the scope in the faq) as it is currently.

Is there a specific type of fighting you're asking about? MMA? Random street fights?

I'm not sure I understand what efficacy you are seeking. It's still a very broad question as it is. You're enumerating criteria for comparison, but I don't see the reason why you want this comparison. I'm guessing it is the application of such techniques and forms, but is it for sparring, fitness, self-defense, or something else? You should edit your question and add narrow down those elements. If you're asking for a plain comparison, that's fine.

Be aware that asking for shopping recommendations can be problematic: price, locale, budget, etc.

More specificity is better than asking a general and broad question. Is this something inherent to martial arts (or a particular one)? The way it is currently asked makes it sound like the Physical Fitness Stack Exchange would be a better outlet for this type of question.

Why should someone not train for martial arts or flexibility if that person can't deadlift or squat? What effect do deadlifts and squats have on obtaining a full split?
