What's the recommended way to deal with an injured hamstring while still practicing? Don't stress it. Whenever I have an injury, any shock remotely close to it will aggravate the injury again. For example, I was leg-swept right above my knee when I had a sore lower back. The sweep was a bit harder than intended, but it aggravated my back (even though he hit me right above my knee). |

How do you ease someone over 40 back into training after many years absence? In the words of both the Master and my band teacher, "If you can't do it right slow, you will never be able to do it right fast". It's amazing how many times I'll have difficulty with something, slow it down to almost tai chi speed and the teacher will then tell me "your hand is in the wrong position here. |
