Krav Maga, is it 100% legal for defense? Ask a lawyer in the area where you live. IN general you can respond with equal amount of force in any given situation. That is general and there are exceptions. |

Value in Breaking Boards? Penn & Teller in their "Bullshit!" episode on Martial Arts covered board breaking a little bit, with Teller breaking some boards. I personally don't see value in board breaking. |

How do I choose a boxing glove? Competitions will often have requirements for gloves. For sparring and heavy bag I use 16oz gloves, personal preference. For choosing the size, try them on and see how they feel. Try different weight of gloves. |

Are any Martial Arts Reality Shows/Documentaries useful to watch? I would agree with Fight Science and Human Weapon. |

how to overcome “freeze”? Practice and keep things simple. If a person has a dozen ways (just picking a number at random) to grab your wrist and you have a specific technique for escaping from each one then yes, choking is very likely. Don't over think, do. |

Should political/religious discussions be allowed inside the training place? Yup, their school, their rules. My previous karate school it was not uncommon for political talk with the head instructor before class started. Also talked about poker playing too, |

Where can I go to order cheap grappling mat(s) for beginners? I'd have to check, but I remember when seeing them on sale the price was pretty reasonable. I'd have to check the prices. And yes, always good to verify that they meet your hardness/softness needs. The ones I've seen I've found "acceptable" for my uses, YMMV. |

What is the most effective way to stabilize a WaveMaster 2XL? For those of us that use our shins for round house type of kicks this would be a less desirable position. :) |

Where can I go to order cheap grappling mat(s) for beginners? Horse stall mats (should not need to say new ones) also can work. |

Proper diet for preparing for a tournament Eat real food, might go a little more carb heavy in the form of sweet potatoes and yams. Creatine Monohydrate can help with recovery. And get plenty of sleep. |

Should I train differently to spar guys who are bigger than me? Loren Christian has some books and videos on speed training, might want to look into those. You need to move in, make contact, and get out again. |

How does a non-grappler train to be ready to avoid grappling in a real-world situation? Something you might want to read: chirontraining.blogspot.com/2012/07/joy-of-cheating.html |

How does a non-grappler train to be ready to avoid grappling in a real-world situation? You don't need to knockout, stunning or severe pain can work too. If I stun someone for a second that sets up another chance for strikes, them getting stuck in an OODA loop, etc. In your case when you had your sublexed knee, was this a fight for your life or one with rules? Context does make a difference. |

What can one do to avoid entering a grappling situation? Don't be there :) Seriously though this is why I got involved with Tony Blauer and his SPEAR system. We actually practice techniques where someone is coming in to grab/tackle you and make sure you gain control of the situation. |

How does a non-grappler train to be ready to avoid grappling in a real-world situation? I found eye jabs, throat strikes, and kicking to break a knee a good way as a striker to take the fight out of a grappler. |

How does a non-grappler train to be ready to avoid grappling in a real-world situation? I've used it to gain space where I can make a counter move, even from the ground. Main issue I find in training when not using protective gear is that strikers like myself are usually not allowed to hit full force, training partners tend to not like that. Best way I found at looking at this tactic is how Tony himself describes it. It is a tool to allow me to get to the other tools in my toolbox |

How does a non-grappler train to be ready to avoid grappling in a real-world situation? I disagree with a grappler will almost always win against a striker. Depends on how several factors as to who will win. For example a well placed knee does wonders to prevent someone shooting in for a take down. |

What is a good push-up routine to build punch strength? Standard pushups work just fine. If looking to build strength I would suggest barbell exercises such as the presses (bench and overhead), along with pushups. dips, and pullups. Also make sure your technique is solid. Jack Dempsey wrote a book many years ago on power generation (Championship Fighting). |

Has anyone had/recovered from achilles rupture? It is always the last time on the drill.. As I've said I've known people that have done this on box jumps, and they have done box jumps hundreds of times in the past. Suddenly the stars aligned and poof, injury. |
