I'm currently studying Tomiki Aikido under Dr. Yoji Kondo, although I started in Yoshinkan aikido under Helton-Sensei. I'm also studying Taiji under D. Gilmer at StillwaterTaichi I'm informally studying jo and bokken.

yes, that is more on topic. I'm not convinced that either one must know what one is protecting against prior to devising a defense, nor am I convinced that rape defense is within scope; nor am I convinced that it is outside of scope, nor am I convinced that I can articulate where the scope boundary ought to lie. Having expressed my indecision I shall shut up until I can contribute something other than misgivings. (My qualms aside, the information is both prudent and wise).
