How useful is a grappling dummy, when you don't have a live training partner available? Never used one, but i've read that they are actually -better- than a training partner, when used in conjunction. This is because you do not have to "water down" techniques by altering them so the uke can safely ukemi out of it. I'm very curious to see what people have to say. |

How to overcome fear to jump? Remember to start low to the ground as well. It will allow you to be less afraid of the ground, and work on your technique. Eventually, however, you will have to just stand up and fall until you realize that you have trained yourself to be relatively safe |

How helpful is it to film yourself during training and analyze videos after training? We occasionally film ourselves fencing, and its amazing how much poor technique you can pick out to improve on, when you can analyze it later. I know there is a "stigma" against filming in some dojo's, so depending on your instructor it might be a hard sell. |

Are there musical instruments which, when practiced, noticeably increase martial arts skills and performance? Not that i know of, but dance certainly does. |

Leg conditioning advice Keep in mind that any kind of bone conditioning has side effects, if you try the shin conditioning mentioned above, just remember to read lightly. |

Drills for reducing your natural “flinch” reaction Im fairly certain i've been "trained" to flinch as well, from a night job and a bored boss and a couple years. I think its sounding like I just need to get someone to do the same thing to me as they did with you. |

Drills for reducing your natural “flinch” reaction I like the "shadow boxing" idea. I will give that a try. |
