comment Between Kyokushin and Shotokan, which focuses more on hard sparring and less on kata?
Well, it reminds me of the scene at the end of V for Vendetta, really. "You've got nothing. Nothing but your bloody knives and your fancy karate gimmicks." The pyjama bit is something I hear a lot. It's the intentional misspelling that irked me. Dancing and martial arts have a lot in common.

"krotty dances" sounds snide to me.

This is a very valuable answer. I wonder if there are ways to vote up answers for some sort of "Hall of Fame"... ?

I would amend your last sentence and remove "with a high degree of certainty", but that may just be a pet peeve of mine. Skeptic, yes, but incredulous and annoying are things I don't like. I agree with basically everything else you wrote, but if you are sitting in your armchair waiting for this evidence, I guarantee you that it will not come to you :)

@nsawaya I don't understand what you mean by "the shoulder is pushing backwards". Could you help me?

I think most of your post is very valuable, but I don't think what you say about striking from the shoulder is correct. Maybe your meaning is right and your words are wrong. The shoulder should barely (if at all) be involved in a strike. If you strike from the shoulder, you are disconnecting yourself from your hips, which is where the most powerful muscles in the body are.
