An Ontology of Combat @DaveLiepmann do you think we could start one here as a community wiki? |

An Ontology of Combat I don't know if this answers the question, but it's certainly valuable information. |

Why does Seido Karate only teach weapons training at black belt level? I would recommend that you split your question in two parts. One, ask if there are systems that start with weapons. Then, create another question asking for styles similar to Seido karate. |

Korean Equivalent of Shu-Ha-Ri? This was a great edit, and very valuable information, although I believe it is still different. Let me explain: SHU is like "in this stance, he grabs this wrist with this hand, then you do that". HA is like "try this technique in various wrist grab positions, stances, etc". RI is like "Well, based on the way he grabbed my wrist, what I did was the proper response". |

Korean Equivalent of Shu-Ha-Ri? I believe that these are different concepts than the ones in the question, which are about levels of mastery of a skill. |

Getting Punches in stomach as practice in kick boxing The answer is, it depends. How are you taught to receive the strikes? (e.g. do you tighten your abs, do you step into them...) |

What is the best way to work with a partner who misunderstands the drill? I am OP. What is wrong? I believe that the unspoken argument is that adapting to a drill performed incorrectly still yields some benefits, as long as one understands that one is adapting and what one is responding to. |

How do I improve my jumping technique for jumping maneuvers? I'm with @DaveLiepmann. If this question were about martial benefits of jumping, I would think it belongs in here. As such, I think it's more of a fitness/athletics question at the moment. |

What is the best way to work with a partner who misunderstands the drill? I just meant - would doing it YOUR way also be a good thing for them to practice, even if it is the wrong way? |

What differentiates the major styles of Tai Chi? @chaosys - I'm very curious about that! Would you mind asking your shifu for more information on that style, like its origins, etc? |

What is the best way to work with a partner who misunderstands the drill? But the question then becomes, are you a good partner if you just do it their way? |
