Nescire autem quid ante quam natus sis acciderit, id est semper esse puerum. Quid enim est aetas hominis, nisi ea memoria rerum veterum cum superiorum aetate contexitur? -- Cicero, Marcus Tullius (106-43BC)

comment Are there legal ramifications to being a trained martial artist?
Yes, I was referring to the state trouper. It makes more sense if he is part of your anecdote.

+1 for the first paragraph. -1 for anecdotal evidence and hear say.

I am not a lawyer, nor do I play one on TV. That said, I do not believe that a UN resolution automatically translate into the law of any country whether they signed it or not. A quick and dirty search shows that they are considered "recommendations" by article 10 and 14. Admittedly, that was from wikipedia which, as I said before, is not a reference. Still, it should be east to verify. Apparently Sergei A. Voitovich, International Economic Organizations in the International Legal Process, p. 95. Martinus Nijhoff Publishers, 1995. ISBN 0-7923-2766-7 has the meat of the matter.

Wikipedia is not a reference, the article does not reference anything to do with martial arts, and its link to the text is broken. Could you find the exact text of the resolution?

You have three different questions thus you should ask three questions instead of one. Also, can you tell us why the wikipedia page and associated source do not help?

comment How many (and what) things have I failed to do if I get into a fight?
I found out that the more useless the martial arts school, the bigger the emphasis is on fighting rather than running away. It's all down to personal experience I guess... ^_~

Yes, the emblems will be bleached as well unless you remove them first. You could do some clever bleaching in a bucket but that will leave you with a yellowish halo around the emblems.

Nine circles has some (okay, they are Aikido gi...) for €50ish... Note that I am only affiliated with Nine Circles as a customer.

€150 seems really high for a Judo gi. Most of the ones I get are around £30/40...
