Nescire autem quid ante quam natus sis acciderit, id est semper esse puerum. Quid enim est aetas hominis, nisi ea memoria rerum veterum cum superiorum aetate contexitur? -- Cicero, Marcus Tullius (106-43BC)

What is the best martial art for reducing back pain and stress while increasing my fitness? Back pain... Do see a doctor about it as well and ask if whatever activity you are doing is not going to make it worst. |

What are some good sources to remind me of the order of Bassai kata? IN that case you may not get anything... I would suggest making written notes and/or take a video of you and your sensei doing the kata. |

Why doesn't aikido have kicking techniques? -1 Aikido does have atemi and attacks. For example, ikyo/ikajo/oshi taoshi (same techniques, different names) can be initiated by tori as a shomen uchi strike that uke blocks. Tori then can apply the technique on uke's elbow which is now in the "right" place. |

Are students with disabilities tested differently? If you can find a way for them to be able to avoid non-grabbing attacks, I would be interested in finding out how. BTW, it does depend on the level of blindness the person has. Of course, you can test those methods by just putting on a blind fold... Maybe inviting accidents there. |

Correct usage of the title “Master”? Talhoffer is described as having the title of Maister in the Fight Earnestly book. I do not speak German so cannot point to the exact line in the text but the pdf can be found here: thearma.org/pdf/Fight-Earnestly.pdf Hope this helps. |

How do I coach her mindset to better suit karate competitions? +1 Very interesting question. Personally, I compete to learn more about the art I practice thus I do not tend to focus on winning. Would this help her? |

Bokken and Jo Kata book Ah, sorry. I meant that the kata will vary between styles of aikido: yoshinkan, shodokan, aikikai, iwama, ki, etc... all will have different versions of the 31 and may others. Shodokan has a 6, 18, 21 and 31 for example. |
