Nescire autem quid ante quam natus sis acciderit, id est semper esse puerum. Quid enim est aetas hominis, nisi ea memoria rerum veterum cum superiorum aetate contexitur? -- Cicero, Marcus Tullius (106-43BC)

comment Did Karate really originate in the Okinawa region of Japan?
Welcome to the site! The first sentence make for a poor answer. Do you have a summary of your research? Anything published? What are your sources? Making bold claims is easy and unless you can bake them up, it makes what you have to say irrelevant. I do not mean to be mean, just pointing out how to improve your answer. Hope this help.

comment How do I find out what are the laws on edged weapons in my country?
@MarkC.Wallace: What is the best way to find out my rights and restrictions on carrying training weapons that are used in my martial art club. Note that no restrictions is put on weapons: life blades, wooden, metal, spiked, and all that jazz are possible. On a side note, this is all semantics.

@MarkC.Wallace: It would be quiet easy to change the question so that it is clearly relevant to MA.se and not localised. Perhaps $admin could edit it?

comment What are the signs *not* to train at a specific school?
@RolandTepp: I have trained with self employed people who, if injured, would have been unable to work. Thus, insurance was essential in case they got injured so they did not becoming homeless. It had nothing to do with being sued. Although, I am not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV and I am aware that suing is a favourite past time in some countries. I guess what the point is about "protecting yourself from medical and legal expenses". AKA self defence.
