Nescire autem quid ante quam natus sis acciderit, id est semper esse puerum. Quid enim est aetas hominis, nisi ea memoria rerum veterum cum superiorum aetate contexitur? -- Cicero, Marcus Tullius (106-43BC)

How effective are foul techniques as a side control escape? @Trevoke: I was aware of that ^_~. To be honest, this is almost a good answer bare for the legal ignorance. I like the getting away, the not staying to fight, and the note about the dangers of getting bio hazard material into your mouth. However, ignorance of the law is no excuse for any martial artist. Propagating myths about the law is likely to get people in jail. |

How effective are foul techniques as a side control escape? if you can justify using that level of force it is legal is at best oversimplifying the laws covering self defence and certainly shows no understanding of legal matters. Sorry, my down vote stands. |

Is martial arts training 'inadequate' for the real world? -1 Both answers are the same: myth of MA being sports thus useless, over simplification of violence, and oversimplified sociological arguments. A factual error: Aikido does have sport competition. |

Measuring the foot when buying Tabi (and giving the size using the japanese convention) I was unsure and to be honest, I like the question so it should remain open! ^_~ |

Measuring the foot when buying Tabi (and giving the size using the japanese convention) I am not sure the question should be on topic since it involves shoe size which are not really martial art specific. Maybe Japan language would be a better place to ask? However, the question itself is very well phrased, researched, and interesting to martial artists so I vote we keep it! BTW +1. |

Training while exhausted @Reno: I think there is a good question there. Besides, it's not like this site is overburdened with questions so the more the merrier. |

how to fight with eyes There are six questions here and none of them are clear thus vote to close. If you clarify the questions and ask separate ones, it would be much better. |

Are there legal ramifications to being a trained martial artist? -100! The legal consequence of this attitude is that you commit assault and will be prosecuted as such. This is thoughtless, unrealistic, and ignorant advise. |
