comment Krav Maga, is it 100% legal for defense?
-1. First and second paragraphs are utterly inaccurate. Last paragraph shows an fundamental lack of knowledge of crime, witnesses, or any legal system.

comment What is a good push-up routine to build punch strength?
@TimothyAWiseman: Hum, that's not in kilo right? ^_~ What I meant was too heavy for your door frame. A good door frame should take a normal person. If you are very overweight or muscular, you might find the door frame starts to peel off the wall. If the wood is of poor quality, you will see the frame digging in. As with any equipment, do inspect it before and after use.

comment Drills for training agility - cross art
I would be very interested in this as well. However, advise reading like "block down the pub told me..." is worst than useless, in fact it is dangerous. So please provide references. Thank you.

@TimothyAWiseman: I do indeed have one of those. They are good provided that (i) your doors are actually well made, and (ii) you are not too heavy.

comment Does Krav Maga have any roots of Aikido?
Welcome to the site! Could you provide some names and a reference to which style of Aikido they were graded in? This would make it a great answer. As it stands, it reads like "guy down the pub told me that..." ^_~

comment How do I keep a safe distance from potential threats without escalating the situation?
-1 as this is a terrible answer. It is just a link to some block called Geoff. We have no idea who he is, what he does, or what the video is about. Note that links are subject to rot so are no good without an explanation. So, no it does not help I am afraid. This could be a good answer but it needs expending.

Qi has been scientifically investigated and was found to be little more than belief.

comment Aikido jo-staff origins
@CraigConstantine: That opens a can of worms as to why uke does the things that uke does. With a blade at the end, most moves/counters makes sense. If there is no blade, things become a little more muddied. Of course, we both agree that both Aikido jo and Aikido bokken are tools to learn Aikido first and learn some cool wooden weapons skillz second.

I know that O'Sensei did teach bayonet during the second world war and I was thinking that it would be more likely than a spear (too short!).
