comment Aikido in a street fight?
-1. sigh Shodokan Aikido is taught at the Osaka Police Academy, Yoshinkan Aikido via the Senshisei course is taught to the Tokyo riot police. Your personal experience of Aikido might be different but it certainly is not only for play fighting girlfriends and picking on little brothers... I personally know and trained with military personal, police officers, and prison wardens that all effectively used Aikido in the field as part of their jobs.

comment Aikido in a street fight?
We do not do debate as this is a question and answer site. Please find a forum such as aikiweb which will be happy to host debates. I said that your question reads like and if I have mistaken your question, maybe it could be better worded.

comment Aikido in a street fight?
-1, vote to close. First, anecdotal evidence is utterly worthless so three examples of bad Aikido videos (with no references) mean nothing whatsoever. Second, your question reads like you have made up your mind and are just fishing for justifications. Thirdly, what is a "street fight"? A car full of gang bangers shooting automatic weapons while driving? A drunk guy in a bar thinking you called his pint ugly?

comment What is the oldest martial art?
-1. A claim to be the oldest does not make it so. We need dates backed by evidence.

comment Why do lighter fighters have better cardio than heavier ones?
I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it is a about biology (and possibly fitness) and has nothing whatsoever to do with martial arts.

comment Martial Art focused on upper body strikes
Welcome to the site. I slightly edited your question so that it fits better -- mostly removed things that were not needed. We are all here to ask/answer questions, so no need to say "hi". Also, you thank people by up voting their answers. Have a look at the help centre for more information.

comment What are the main uses of aikido in self-defense?
+1, a very good answer to a very bad question. However, there is no such thing as "Tomiki Aikido". Tomiki did create a system of teaching Aikido that involves an element of competition called Shodokan Aikido.

+1: deescalating, -1: preventive strike, +1: legal disclaimer! The last paragraph deserves more emphasis.

comment Self-defense with hemiphlegia
Just a grain of salt on tools: please check with your lawyer that said tools are legal to carry for self defence. Some might not be and might get you on the wrong side of law. I am not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV so talk to a real one.

-1. This does not answer the question at all! How can someone with limited use of one side of their body benefit from Chin na?

comment Martial arts with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)?
I am afraid that we are not a forum but a Q&A site devoted to martial arts. First, your answer (as this is one) does not answer the question asked. Second, even if you were to ask this as a question, it would be off topic since it's about medicine and not martial arts. Thirdly, I encourage you to look at our help centre.

comment Can i do judo or jiu-jitsu even if I have braces?
Do not seek the advice of strangers on the Internet with regards to medical conditions: Talk to medical professionals. Your orthodontist should be able to answer (or at least research) said question.

comment What did Dai Longbang mean by Qi?
First, I genuinely laughed because that paper is such a brilliant collection of quackery. Second, there is no such thing as a chinese scientific paradigm. The scientific method does not differ based on your skin colour, your gender, or physical and temporal locations. Finally, thank you for the ad hominem attack.

comment What aspects of health does form-based tai chi improve?
If a, and b are positive integers then a+b > a. So, comparing something to nothing of course yields a better result. Once you know that, a lot of alternative medicine "trials" are easily dismissed as confidence tricks.
