However, the already well known factor is that the brain re-routes neural pathways to non-damaged parts for most injury, which is why mild concussions tend not to have lasting impairment - the worse the damage, the longer the effect until the brain can find a functional pathway. And likewise, repeat concussions eventually knock out too many paths & give long term impairment. | |
